Well, that was not really the outing I thought it would be.

I didn't think that someone not seeing the Aurors would be more exciting than what we all did see, for one thing.

Longbottom, I didn't mean anything by it when I thought maybe they didn't let you in. It should have been obvious, anyway, that there wouldn't have been any kind of...security risk, I guess. Anyway. No hard feelings, yeah?

I hope the actors actually show up for the panto tonight.

Well, Aurors can't be doing wiz-nift, exciting things all the time, can they?

I mean, this is more realistic in a way.

Well, you might have a point there.

Look on the bright side--at least nobody's thought they've seen Snape or MacNair this week.

Oh, don't even joke about it! That sort of excitement we don't need!

Corner, is it? And Bones?

As you were told this morning, Magical Law Enforcement is not in the business of entertaining children. Particularly disruptive, disrespectful children.

And you, Corner. You think it would be funny to cry 'Snape!' this week? I believe you'll find it less entertaining in practice.

And your next visit to our department is certain to exceed your wildest expectations.

I can't see what they're teaching them at Hogwarts.

Certainly not sense.

Even thinking about it puts me on the verge of rage.

Wait until you have children of your own attending.

Imagine acting as one of the few voices of reason among the Governors.

It is maddening indeed to meet with mealy-mouthed excuses - from other parents, even! - regarding how the pupils are to be cossetted along.

Peakes has at least got the right idea with his young charge. Too many of them believe their duty as Governors is to ensure their own progeny are never brought to account.

You know, Lucius, I've never paid much attention to how, exactly, one becomes a Governor.

Perhaps this weekend we should find a moment to chat about the process.

Nor should I have expected you to do, Bella - after all, only half of the Governors have children enrolled in the school.

But of course, I should be happy to discuss the current slate, their terms of office and what may be done to ensure competent service going into next term.

I'm all right, everyone.

Sorry if that disappoints some of you.

At least you got to see something, Corner.

Taking after his da, Alice?

I remember one Quidditch match in particular.... I'm surprised he didn't get grounded from the game for the duration.

Well. There is that, I suppose.

Still.

He must have been terribly provoked to even try anything that foolhardy. Because that doesn't sound like the Neville I know.

Did you throw the first hex, Nev? I'm sure Greg deserved it if you did. Or Vince. Whichever it was.
alt_neville: (Really?)
Posted by [personal profile] alt_neville
I didn't hit anybody! Or hex anybody. But that's not what that lying Ptolemy Baddock said.

Crabbe and Goyle cornered me in the last turn of the corridor, just before we were all about to go in. They said they didn't see why I should get to go in when my parents--well, never mind what they said. I'm sure you can imagine the general idea. And that led to one thing and then another, and then it was just a mess until Baddock peeled them off of me. My nose was bleeding all over everything. And then Baddock smirked as he said, 'Well, what did you expect, Longbottom?' He lied through his teeth to back up Crabbe when Crabbe told Professor Sinistra I threw the first punch.

No way would I have believed you'd be nutters enough to go around throwing punches at Crabbe or Goyle.

They're not going to make you keep rooming together, are they?
alt_neville: (Really?)
Posted by [personal profile] alt_neville
I reckon not, no. Don't know who they'll put Crabbe with, but they found a single room to stick me in by myself for now. Or they may have one of the prefects who are here as chaperones switch with Crabbe.

It better not be that Ptolemy Baddock, though.

Professor Sinistra wanted me to apologise to Crabbe. And I wouldn't do it. I said I was sorry there was a scene, but I wouldn't say sorry for something I didn't do. And that's why I got sent back to the Horseguards. I don't think they'll send me home early. But I don't get to do any of the rest of the events today.

Sorry to be whinging. But it was the Auror training I wanted to see most of all.
alt_pansy: (Default)
Posted by [personal profile] alt_pansy
It's not whinging at all.

Crabbe and Goyle are idiots.

I expected better of Ptolemy, though.

I would have, too. He's always been fair to me, but I guess he doesn't care about anyone outside Slytherin House.
alt_pansy: (Default)
Posted by [personal profile] alt_pansy
Maybe he still thinks he's got a thing or two to prove, so he decided to throw his weight around.

After all, he became Prefect under less than ideal circumstances.

But still, how transparent is that?
alt_neville: (Really?)
Posted by [personal profile] alt_neville
I have to do a bunch of lines, too. 'I will not shame my pureblood heritage."

I had to miss the theater tonight, but Professor Sinistra says if I turn in all my lines tomorrow morning, I'll be able to go with the group tomorrow.

I'll be keeping away from Crabbe and Goyle, though.
