Well, that was not really the outing I thought it would be.

I didn't think that someone not seeing the Aurors would be more exciting than what we all did see, for one thing.

Longbottom, I didn't mean anything by it when I thought maybe they didn't let you in. It should have been obvious, anyway, that there wouldn't have been any kind of...security risk, I guess. Anyway. No hard feelings, yeah?

I hope the actors actually show up for the panto tonight.

Imagine acting as one of the few voices of reason among the Governors.

It is maddening indeed to meet with mealy-mouthed excuses - from other parents, even! - regarding how the pupils are to be cossetted along.

Peakes has at least got the right idea with his young charge. Too many of them believe their duty as Governors is to ensure their own progeny are never brought to account.

You know, Lucius, I've never paid much attention to how, exactly, one becomes a Governor.

Perhaps this weekend we should find a moment to chat about the process.

Nor should I have expected you to do, Bella - after all, only half of the Governors have children enrolled in the school.

But of course, I should be happy to discuss the current slate, their terms of office and what may be done to ensure competent service going into next term.
